Survey USA, a professional pollster, has signed a deal with WRAL News to find out what North Carolina consumers think of Las Vegas-style casino resorts. Turns out, state residents who just took online bets are strongly supportive of the possibility of legalizing commercial casino resorts.

Survey USA surveyed 850 adults and found that 55% supported the establishment of casinos in rural North Carolina. For comparison, only 28% strongly or somewhat opposed the casino game. The remaining respondents remained neutral.

The survey also understood that adult men were slightly more likely to support casino games. Survey USA pointed out that 61% of male respondents and 65% of respondents aged 35-49 supported Vegas-style games.

Survey USA's poll reflected the results of a recent survey conducted by Meredith Paul of the private women's liberal arts college in Raleigh, with 57% of voters supporting commercial casinos.

Not all MPs are in favor of casino games
Supporters of casinos in North Carolina have been trying to legalize casino games for some time. While no constitutional amendment is necessary because gambling is not prohibited in local constitutions, casinos remain a point of contention.

For reference, North Carolina currently boasts three tribal casinos. North Carolina recently expanded its gaming industry by launching online sports betting.

In 2023, Senator Phil Berger tried to start a casino game by conceiving three commercial properties in Anson, Nash, and Rockingham. His efforts caught the attention of the Cordish Companies, but they ultimately failed.

Berger claims that casino resorts are more than just gaming facilities. He claims that casinos go beyond gambling and calls them entertainment districts.

Republicans have criticized Berger's efforts, saying game expansion should be considered separately and not part of the state's budget plan.  동행복권파워볼

Meanwhile, proponents of the Vegas-style game will once again challenge legalizing commercial casinos as the legislative session of 2024 approaches. While many argue that casino resorts will provide a strong boost to the rural economy, some influential lawmakers argue that the state should instead focus on other initiatives to develop rural ecosystems.
